Does it slant forward to keep dust from falling on the lower picture?

Each leg telescopes to make the easel fully adjustable. Even a sloping floor or stairs can be accommodated. The bag fits well on the back of the drawing board when it is folded. This stores it during presentations and also provides additional counterbalance stability for forward slanting of the board.

How can the black light be bright enough, if it only has one 24 inch black light?

The light hood uses a new type of bulb and reflective metal fixture that is almost twice as bright (33 1/2 watts) as two standard black light tubes (20 watts).

Side by side tests demonstrate that one of this type fixture is nearly as bright as two standard T-20 blacklight tubes at 1/3 the weight.

How long can you leave the lights on without overheating?

The flight easel includes new heat shield, double-sided filter screens for new models that increases filter life by rapidly spreading heat away from the filter.  These replaceable filters are available in red, blue, purple and green. Additional colors are available at $20 per custom color and $10 per filter screen.

The challenge with lighting is not just overheating of the lights, but the overheating of the colored filters in front of the lights. On any lighting system,  prolonged use shortens the filter life. To extend filter life, it is best to use the lights sparingly.

The flight easel lighting system is designed to be as light weight and compact as possible for chalk art presentations that use the colored lights as a brief special effect with the black light. To extend filter life, it is still best to limit use to about 3 - 5 minutes.

Will it support standard bogus paper?

The 4 - way folding drawing board holds standard
40 x 53 inch sheets of bogus paper landscape style.
It will also handle a half sheet portrait style. (40h x 26w)

How does the paper mount on the board?

Four large binder clips hold a stack of drawing paper
securely to the board. The adjustable handles lay flat
for stacking under a frame or flip up for hanging.
The handles can be removed by compressing them
slightly, for a neat, clean, professional look.

How can the board be light weight, strong and smooth,
if it separates into pieces?

The board separates into 2 folding panels for compact transportation. Each of the panels that make up the board are ultra-light high grade reinforced solid core Lauan, a hardwood that grows in Southeast Asia. The side panels are permanently connected with continuous hinge. The center joint is attached with 3 custom designed loose pin hinges to produce the smoothest front drawing surface possible.

Both the top and bottom of the board are supported with continuous C-channel, wedged tight by the weight of the light hood and hold down straps.

The four corners of the drawing board transfer any pressure applied to them through a series of triangular supports to the rear leg equally. This results in an extraordinarily solid drawing surface.

Does it include a frame?

The new portable easel frame is $127 plus materials plus 10% for shipping. It  that fits in the flight bag. Airline restrictions limit both size and weight of baggage and might charge extra for the frame's added weight.

Will the easel check as normal airline baggage?

The drawing board folds in 4 places and fits well into its travel bag. The entire easel - light hood, control box and compact, folding drawing board, fits in one golf bag on wheels for air travel. Domestic U.S. flights generally allow 2 free checked baggage items.  Some airlines will allow a third piece, but no carry-on piece may be taken.

A good rule of thumb is that the first checked piece should not exceed a dimension of 62 linear inches and a weight of 70lbs.  FAA Airline baggage restrictions allow them to charge extra for any baggage they define as oversized. It is recommend that you check specifically with the airline, since restrictions and enforcement can change.
